Double Stops ‘Indepth’
£5.00
I thought I’d bow to pressure and do a tutorial on double stops and how I use them. For the uninitiated double stops is simply the act of playing two notes at the same time (as opposed to one!) We also have triple stops and quadruple stops referred to in music.
This pertains originally to the violin and its ability to play from one to all of its strings at the same time. This was a fairly difficult technique for violinists due the curved bridge, tension of the strings etc, but for guitar it’s a relatively easy process. We don’t refer to quintuple and sextuple stops as this is called ‘strumming your guitar’ 😉
